Our latest public information campaign, for the Ministry for the Climate Emergency, in association with badvertising, launched in June 2022 and highlights the lack of credible regulation of greenwash in aviation advertising.

With pandemic restrictions (hopefully) a fading memory and summer in full swing, many people who have been longing to escape abroad are now free to book their flights for that long-awaited holiday. But how many holiday destination decisions are affected by advertising? Probably most of them. And how many people would choose to fly if they knew the real climate cost of their flight? Probably not so many.

While most people are genuinely trying to reduce their carbon footprint and do the right thing, their decisions are influenced by the power of advertising. Airline advertising campaigns claiming you can ‘Fly Greener’ and promoting “Zero Emissions Flight” sound like the right choice, but they are highly misleading and are contributing enormously to climate change.

We recently developed another public awareness campaign for the Ministry for the Climate Emergency, connecting advertising to the climate crisis through brain pollution, and will continue our efforts to make a positive difference for the health of our planet.
