introduction
We have over 10 years experience developing animations for a wide range of clients. We capture the essence of topical issues and social movements to create provocative and engaging materials that inspire a target audience to respond.
We partner with our clients through the development process: concept development, animation style, illustration, storyboard development, script writing, recording and commissioning voiceover, audio track selection and licensing and animation production.
The Vegan Society // Plate Up for the Planet campaign
A series of animations supporting the evolving strategy of the Plate Up for the Planet campaign since 2017, and recently supporting the Vegan Society activities at COP26. Animation style is redefined each year to support overall campaign creative and core messaging across online promotion, digital billboard advertising, social media, events and an interactive online game.
Rapid Transition Alliance // Lessons from Lockdown
A set of animated short films capturing positive themes for more sustainable behaviour, that resonate with people’s experience of the pandemic, and across the political spectrum.
The Vegan Society // Fairer Food Systems
A report outlining a food system that’s fair for everyone, brought to life in a 3.5 minute animation, social media animation adaptations and a microsite. The report will inform future Vegan Society projects for the next few years, including the National Food Strategy.
Equality and Human Rights Commission // Workplace reasonable adjustments
This animation encourages employees to initiate a conversation regarding reasonable adjustments within the workplace, and feel confident in knowing what they might be entitled to.
Equality and Human Rights Commission // Pay gaps
Three summary animations, supporting the full Equality and Human Rights Commission pay gaps report, explain the pay gap issues with a focus on disability, gender and ethnicity.
We also developed a supporting online interactive infographic to explain and compare statistics.
Rapid Transition Alliance // Key theme animations
A series of 10 short animations providing a brief insight into the 10 key areas of change that can help achieve rapid transition towards positive climate change.
Equality and Human Rights Commission // Is Britain Fairer?
This animation supports the findings of a major in-depth study undertaken by the Equality and Human Rights Commission: Is Britain Fairer?
Equality and Human Rights Commission // Anti-Bullying
A bilingual 2.5 minute animation, used as part of Anti-Bullying Week, as a call-out to senior teachers and school managers to target bullying effectively in their schools. The animation was also used by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA); a coalition of organisations united against bullying which leads and coordinates Anti-Bullying Week.
We also designed the 'top tips' – an online resource for schools to help them tackle identity-based bullying.
WWF
An award-winning film for WWF, which was showcased at the UN Copenhagen climate conference. The story demonstrates how climate change in the Arctic impacts people around the world. Graphics use ink, water and photography and the film was presented in five languages.
United Purpose (formerly Concern Universal)
We scripted, directed and animated this film, which set out to explain 'community-led development' to teenagers. African influences informed the style of the film and a representative of Concern Universal, working directly with communities in Ghana, provides authentic narration.
WEN Wales // CEDAW animation
A bilingual animation promoteing CEDAW, the UN Convention to Eliminate all forms of Discrimination Against Women. In partnership with client specialists, bwa developed the script, created the illustrations and animated this two minute bilingual film. We managed the translation, and commissioned an appropriate voiceover artist. Key considerations for this project were the tone of voice to suit the target audience, and the presentation of both languages with equal emphasis and maximum clarity.
